OBIT: Louis Gossett Jr.

Louis Gossett Jr., the actor who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (also the first African-American to win a Supporting Actor Oscar) in “An Officer and a Gentleman” and an Emmy in “Roots”, passed away early today in Santa Monica at the age of 87. The cause of death was not known.

He competed on WoF on May 1, 1995 during their Celebrity Award Winners week. His name was also mentioned as a puzzle during Christmas Week 1988.
