Back from Europe (but with some scary details)

Hey folks,

So, I had a great time taking a 15d transatlantic cruise to Europe (it was aboard Royal Caribbean) and also visited Barcelona, London for a week, and also Vienna for a few days. We were supposed to visit Nuremberg, Germany and also the Netherlands (especially Amsterdam), but my mom suffered a health scare at the very start of this month. She caught what we believe is a severe cold and felt chills through her body, so our European vacation unfortunately was cut short and we had to take her back home to the States. We had two connecting flights from Vienna to Istanbul and then back home. The first plane from Vienna had mechanical failure (largely due to the battery) and so we had no choice to wait for the second and working plane to Istanbul. Because of this mechanical failure of the first plane, we missed the connecting flight back to the States and had to spend a night at a luxurious hotel in Istanbul. Fortunately, we made it back home the next day and my dad had to take her to the hospital to recover from the cold for most of last week. And thankfully, she was released this past weekend and is now in the process of improving her health.

Now that I am here with you, I shall get started on the BEST/WILDEST/WORST Moments from this past season. Oh, and yes I did watch all of Pat’s last week on TV. 😉

Big European Vacation Coming Up!

Hey folks,

On May 1, my family and I are going on our own “European Vacation”. We’re going on a transatlantic cruise to Spain for 15 days, then we’ll explore some European cities on land. But the thing is it’s gonna last six weeks and we won’t be home till June 11, which means I won’t be covering the rest of Pat’s final season and it’s also the first time in my career I won’t be covering a first-run season finale. I know, it’s a bummer, but of course my fellow admins are gonna help hold the fort for me while I’m away. Here’s who’s doing what…

May 1-3: Margaritaville Resorts — After I do my final two recaps of the season on Monday and Tuesday, @nickskapower covers the rest.

May 6-10: Grand Getaways — @nickskapower covers everything

May 13-17: Sixth Episode Week V — @jbeaugard01 covers most of this week, and @jliu23232 covers the last.

May 20-24: Big Money Week — @nickskapower covers everything including the big milestone

May 27-31: Fan Favorites — @jpgenius covers most of the week and @jliu23232 covers the last.

June 3-7: Thanks for the Memories — @jpgenius covers the first two, @jbeaugard01 covers Wednesday, @jliu23232 covers Thursday, and @nickskapower does Friday.

Jerry does all the stats and the final two Celebrity WoF episodes of S4 (both air on May 6 and May 13).

BTW, one of the European cities I will be visiting is London, so I might be able to catch the last three episodes of Graham Norton’s first series as host of the rebooted UK version while watching them on the ITV website. I’ll try to record them on my phone and send them to Jerry via email. And on weekends, he’ll help spruce up most of my 2006 recaps of S24 since Adam S will start uploading videos to Lucas’ channel soon. The short-lived daytime version w/ Rolf is also available for the taking.

As for this coming weekend, I’ll be here to do all of the available series 4 episodes of the original UK version.

Back From a Big Trip to Australia!

Hey folks, it’s the real me here. Man, what a six-week trip I had Down Under! We’ve explored Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast for a good chunk of our stay (and yes, I did get to see kangaroos and wallabys at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary!). We also cruised to New Zealand and New Caledonia from Sydney Harbor. We’ll soon be making another trip to Sydney later this year.

Anyway, I’m back at home and ready to provide you a big marathon of recaps. BTW, coming soon in May, my family and I will have our own “European Vacation” (see what I did there?). I’ll fill you in on the dates after I email my fellow admins about this when we get closer to said month.

Big Australian Vacation Coming Up!

Hi folks,

Since my dad retired from his job the past year, we are gonna do traveling more often and so I’ll be missing a lot of first-run episodes. On Super Bowl Sunday, we are flying to Australia 🇦🇺 for 6 weeks. While there, we are also cruising to New Zealand and the South Pacific. We are coming back on Sunday, March 24. Here’s what I plan on having my fellow admins do…

February 12-16: Sweethearts Week — @jpgenius covers the first four, @jliu23232 does the last

February 19-23: Sixth Episode Week III — new admin @jbeaugard01 does all of this

February 26-March 1: National Geographic Expeditions — @nickskapower does all of this

March 4-8: Fabulous Food — @nickskapower does all of this

March 11-15: Leave Winter Behind — @jbeaugard01 does all of this

March 18-22: Marvel Superheroes Week — @jliu23232 does all of this

Jerry will do all of the stats.

I should be here on Saturday to cover this week’s UK episode (I haven’t seen the promo on their twitter feed) and also cover two leftover 2005 episodes in S23.

Off to Hawaii Again!

I’m sure some of you may remember my family’s visit to Hawaii two years ago. Well, next Wednesday, December 6, my family and I are visiting the Aloha State again! In addition to the sights of Honolulu, we’re also going to be cruising the islands. I’ll be returning the early morning hours on Dec. 20. Here’s what I planned for my fellow admins to cover:

  • After I do the first two episodes of Disney Secret Santa I, @nickskapower will cover the other eight (that includes the entirety of Disney Secret Santa II).
  • @jliu23232 will be doing the two celeb episodes on those Wednesdays during the Secret Santa weeks and also the opener of Winter Wonderland week and he’ll also be doing the stats for the two Secret Santa weeks.
  • @jpgenius will finally get a chance to recap this season and he’s doing the Tuesday episode after Jerry does the opener of Winter Wonderland before I come home.

Back From Summer Vacation 2023

I’m back home from nearly three weeks in SoCal (incl. a cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico and my first visit to their S20 and S24 locale of San Diego)!

Thanks to Jerry for covering almost all of the S4 list available on PlutoTV. Since there’s a little time between now and the S41 premiere, I’ll start covering the fairly small number of S5 episodes tomorrow (I’m feeling tired right now). Also, thanks to @nickskapower for getting started with the early parts of the daytime version of the show.

Announcement for Summer Vacation 2023

Folks, my family and I are gonna be on vacation for the next three weeks to SoCal. I’ll be coming back around the time before the official Season 41 premiere.

My fellow admins @jliu23232 and @nickskapower will keep you company bringing you classic retro recaps. We haven’t started any of the daytime yet, so this might be a good time to start on that. Jerry will also be keeping an eye out for videos of S22 episodes that have not yet been covered. The first three weeks of that season have already been fully covered, so what we need are videos for weeks 4-8.

I’ll see you guys then.

Farewell, Skipps Largo

So, Skipps Largo has invited me to take his place on his Game Show Quickies site and Ismael’s Gomez Vintage Reviews site since he’s most likely not coming back anytime soon. So now I’m administrating four sites: Game Show Quickies, Gomez Vintage Reviews, this one, and my own personal site.

Regarding my plans on GSQ, I’ll be planning on writing Quickcaps for WoF and I may occasionally do some for sister show Jeopardy! However, I won’t be able to do any for LMAD or TPiR since my TV station doesn’t have those programs, so I’ll let Adam, Ismael, and Antwan handle them. I currently haven’t decided on what I’ll do on Ismael’s site, though.

Skipps, I would like to personally say thanks for all the contributions you’ve made in the game show community since you joined back in March 2018. It would not have been the same without you. I wish you luck in your life.
