I seem to bring good luck to this show with my past few first-run recaps, don’t I?
Vanna closes the show saying she can’t believe that tomorrow is their last show together. She doesn’t know how to put into words what these past 41 years have meant to her, but she’s going to try. 8,000 episodes went by like the snap of her finger. When she first started, she was so green. Pat made her so comfortable and made her so confident and made her who she is. As the years have gone by, they’ve grown up on television, but they’ve also shared so much more behind the scenes. As much fun as they had on camera, those memories, milestones, and life events they shared with their families outside the studio are her favorite. They’ve watched their children go up together, traveled all over the world, eaten hundreds of meals together, laughed, cried, and celebrated. As she gets teary-eyed, she remarks “what an incredible and unforgettable journey we’ve had, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it”. As this chapter of their lives is coming to an end, she knows he’ll still be close by. He’s like a brother to her, and she considers him a true lifelong friend who she will always adore. She then blows a kiss for Pat.
Postgame Chat: Pat has been saving a tissue for Vanna. She almost lost him a day early because when she’s not expecting confetti, it’s very frightening, but he survived that.
