Her first moves are a $700 N but then LaT. Second, Aly calls up a G for the 1/2 CAR near the orange $900 (it was crooked for some reason), buys an I, but then repeats the N. Third, Andrew has the same fate w/ an L call. Sandi next spots a $550 S, two E’s, two T’s for the AZ trip, and a $600 H. But after her buy of three A’s is the BANKRUPT near $650 to wipe out $8,910 cash & trip. Aly tries again w/ two R’s for $1,300, two $900 C’s, but then the sole dud vowel of O. Andrew then picks up the other 1/2 CAR w/ two K’s, only to lose it and $1K right back to the same BANKRUPT

Aly gets a hold of the MW near $800 right away after starting w/ four N’s…$$$! She follows up w/ a $550 S, an A, two $650 T’s, two E’s, two R’s for $1,300 and the rest of the vowel shop. But after she picks up the WC w/ two M’s, she hits the MDW’s left side to give up $12,900 and her WC. Andrew next gets the same 1/2 CAR he lost in the last round w/ a W, FPs a Y, but then LaTs out. After Sandi runs into the other normal BANKRUPT, Aly fills in a $550 H and a FP G to leave only the first letter unexposed…

    Seems as if the Washington Monument is a popular puzzle inspiration for a getaway- or escape-themed week, eh? (5/11/09, 4/20/10 – both in R2)
